The transaction consolidates Polytec’s growth strategy, strengthening the Group’s ability to support customers in the steel industry throughout the entire production process with increasingly high-performance and integrated solutions, specialized expertise and a growing international presence.
Borgo Chiese, September 1, 2026. Polytec, an Italian company specializing in the development of industrial robotics, automation and digitalization solutions for the Metals sector, announces the acquisition of a 51% stake in Green Project Marking & Reading Systems S.r.l., an Italian company with over thirty years of experience and more than 800 machines installed worldwide, specializing in the development of marking, automatic identification and traceability systems for the steel industry.
With the addition of Green Project, BM Group surpasses the threshold of 500 employees, further confirming its growth in scale and organizational development. This achievement strengthens Polytec’s ability to invest in expertise, research and development, innovation and international expansion, while maintaining a direct, long-term relationship with its customers at the heart of its approach.
This marks a new step in Polytec’s growth journey and consolidates a clear industrial strategy: to build an increasingly comprehensive, integrated and specialized technological ecosystem for the Metals sector, providing customers with complementary expertise and solutions capable of supporting the evolution of production processes.
“This transaction represents a strategic milestone in Polytec’s growth journey and, more broadly, in the development of our industrial vision,” says Mirko Bottini, Chairman of BM Group. “Green Project brings distinctive expertise and in-depth knowledge of the steel industry to the Group, which naturally complement our capabilities in robotics, automation and digitalization. Surpassing 500 employees is an important milestone, but also a responsibility, because it means continuing to invest in people, technology and our ability to collaborate with outstanding companies that share our ambition and values. We want to build an increasingly solid and international Group, capable of creating value for customers through tangible innovation and high-level industrial expertise.”
Green Project is a leader in marking and automatic identification systems for steel and metals and is a key partner to major steel producers internationally. Its integration with Polytec will combine this know-how with the Group’s expertise in industrial robotics, process automation, machine vision systems and plant digitalization.
“Polytec’s growth depends on its ability to bring together different areas of expertise and turn them into value for customers,” says Andrea Tonini, Managing Director of BM Group, responsible for internationalization. “The addition of Green Project significantly strengthens this capability, and we intend to continue creating new opportunities for collaboration, design and development. We want to be increasingly close to our customers, understand their needs and work together to develop concrete, scalable and technologically advanced solutions.”
A key element of the transaction will be the enhancement of the respective identities and areas of expertise of the two companies. Green Project will continue to operate under its own brand, retaining its operational headquarters in Genoa, its team, organization and direct relationships with customers and partners. At the same time, it will be able to strengthen its potential by leveraging Polytec’s resources, expertise and international scale.
“Joining Polytec represents an important opportunity for Green Project to continue a journey built over more than thirty years of activity while, at the same time, looking to the future with greater ambition,” comments Marco Podestà, shareholder of Green Project. “We chose to share this project because we recognize in Polytec an industrial company with a clear vision and values that we share. Our goal is to combine our experience to develop new solutions and address the challenges of an ever-evolving steel industry even more effectively, while keeping people, know-how and the quality of the relationships built over time at the center of our approach.”
The transaction was coordinated by BM Group Holding’s M&A team, with tax and financial support provided by the team at Bettoni Mameli STP, legal support from Sansegolo & Partners, and 3H Partners, which conducted the business due diligence.
Collaboration and joint activities are already underway, with great enthusiasm and new projects and solutions on the horizon. In the coming months, Polytec and Green Project will intensify engagement with customers, partners and industry stakeholders through dedicated meetings, international events and a coordinated presence at the leading trade fairs in the Metals sector. These initiatives will provide opportunities to present the new industrial organization, maintain an ongoing dialogue with the market and turn discussions with customers and partners into a driving force for the development of new technologies.
