The MOSE project is one of the world’s most sophisticated engineering infrastructures, designed to protect Venice and its lagoon ecosystem from high tides and the increasing effects of climate change.
As part of this strategic project, Polytec has been selected to develop the new automation system for the Malamocco navigation lock, the main gateway for commercial vessels entering the Port of Venice. The project includes the engineering, integration, and commissioning of the automation system controlling the “Sea Side – Lagoon Side” navigation lock, ensuring reliable operation of one of the most critical elements of the entire MOSE infrastructure.
The Malamocco Navigation Lock project demonstrates Polytec’s ability to deliver advanced automation solutions for critical infrastructure, combining industrial automation, supervisory software, and intelligent control systems into a single, fully integrated architecture. Leveraging extensive experience in complex industrial and infrastructure projects, Polytec developed a robust and reliable solution that ensures operational continuity, safety, and long-term performance, supporting the efficient operation of one of the key strategic assets within the Venice MOSE system for maritime transport and environmental protection.
