The cruise ship industry demands electrical systems capable of operating with maximum reliability in one of the world’s most challenging environments. Operational continuity, passenger safety, energy efficiency, and compliance with stringent international marine standards are essential throughout every phase of a vessel’s lifecycle. As part of the construction of modern cruise ships, Polytec was selected to deliver the complete electrical distribution package, providing the engineering, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning of critical power distribution systems. The project included Power Centers, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Low Voltage Switchboards, and Inverter Cabinets, forming the backbone of the ship’s electrical infrastructure and ensuring the reliable operation of onboard services and mission-critical equipment.
Designed specifically for naval applications, the electrical systems combine compact layouts, modular architecture, high mechanical strength, and easy accessibility for maintenance, ensuring long-term reliability even under demanding operating conditions. Advanced monitoring systems were also integrated to provide real-time diagnostics of critical electrical equipment, enabling predictive maintenance strategies and improving overall system availability. Every electrical panel was assembled and tested at Polytec’s facilities through comprehensive Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and functional validation procedures, verifying performance, safety, and full compliance with project specifications before shipment.
Polytec engineers then will support the shipyard throughout installation, commissioning, and start-up activities, working in close collaboration with all project stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of the electrical systems and the successful commissioning of the vessel.
